Europe- Day 19/ Part 2

When Liam finally woke up,
we were right in front of the petting zoo...
How perfect!

Don't get me wrong.
If Baby Fin had still been asleep,
I could get excited about petting a goat with the best of 'em,
but somehow it's just more fun with my lil' bumpkin!

"Can I really pet that thing...uh...Mama are you okay with this?
Really?!"

Liam LOVED petting the animals so much.
For the past couple of months
(feels like a year),
we have been working on being gentle,
and the word "soft."

It all started because Liam was hitting us
All.The.Time.
He would hit us when he was excited
happy,
mad,
even when he was melancholy
we'd sometimes get a random smack in the face!

Every time he'd hit us, as if it were a game,
(not an angry fit (different parenting skills required there ;)),
we'd take his hand and say, "soft."

He loves everything soft now.
Even if it isn't soft, but he touches it gently, it's "soft" in his little mind
haha.

He goes around the house stroking random things,
then touches his face and says, "AAAhhh-ss."
His word for soft.

I of course remembered the video camera to capture the cuteness of him petting the goats and saying soft after every stroke.
But did I remember to check the battery?
NOOOOOOO!
It was pretty much dead.
Shoot!

Speaking of goats...
Did you know they work in gangs?

Goat #1:  Okay, here's the plan.
I'll distract the big human by letting the little human caress my massive back muscles.
That's when you go get the stuff.
Remember to be quick!

Goat #2:  You got it Boss!
I like the way you think.
I'm in...then I'm out!
The won't even know I was there

Sorry Goat!  Actually we did notice!
However, I was okay with getting the stroller raided by the zoo's riff-raff.
The seat hasn't been that clean since we left Lindi at home!!
Haha!

There were, of course, many flower smelling pit stops to be had.
Even, bush stops...
bushes that don't even smell. :)

I finally got Liam to keep his hat on!
I keep worrying that  he's going to burn his little scalp.

Me:  "Liam keep your hat on, or you're going to have to get in the stroller."
Liam:
 *touches the hat*
*looks at me*
*looks at the stroller*
*doesn't remove it All Day!
Not Once!

Whoa!
  Victory!
I've tried this tactic before.
It has never worked!

We've battled many times...

Hat on for 30 seconds...
hat off...
in the stroller...
yelling, sqwaking baby...
compliancy to follow...
hat on for 2 minutes...
hat off...

Get the ridiculous picture?

I'm so glad he made a good choice today!

Baby Fin LOVED looking at the bulls too.
We watched them for about 15 minutes.

Remember, 15 minutes is a LONG time in baby world.

So long, that we had to pull out the snacks and have a rest.

Me:  "Look, Liam!  Monkeys!"

"Oooo-oooo-ooo"

"oooo-ooo-oooo"

Another Flower Pit Stop

We tried something new and tried riding on top of the stroller for a while.
(With appropriate supervision, of course)
Liam thought it was the greatest thing EVER!

Another one of Liam's favorites were the flamingoes!

"Do they really think this rope can keep me out?
hahah, silly people.
I've got ninja skills!
Don't believe me?
Ask my Mama.
She know's all about it!"

We had another really hot day here,
so we had to get an orange slushie at the zoo.

I'm not a freak about it,
but I try not to give Liam too much processed sugar.
He just likes the healthy stuff so much,
that I didn't want to wreck his good habits.

This trip has been a HUGE exception.
In fact, I may have ruined my baby for life.
He was literally cramming the empty slushie cup into his face
trying to lick out every last morsel!

We had a REALLY good day.
My favorite day of the trip!
I think it may have Baby Fin's favorite day too!
Sorry, Clint.
We like hanging out with you too.
  Really... we do!

Ciao!
