My Worst Day...

Sunday was one of the hardest the most excruciating days of my life!  Sunday marked the day before I had to go back to work...All I could do was anticipate how horrible it would be.  I was emotional, but I held it together pretty well throughout the week.  I was away from Liam a couple hours as I played on our church worship team for the first time since the end of November.  (I had to take a break at the end of my pregnancy because I felt like I was a mile away from the keyboard when I stood behind it! :o)  And playing again felt great!

Then, at about 10:30 p.m. as I was gathering all of my "teacher stuff" for the first time in three months, reality, shock, and horror set in (Da-Da-DA...you know the song)!  I walked into the living room to see Clint holding our baby, and said to him, "I'm not feeling very well."  It was then that I kind of COMPLETEY LOST IT!  I don't ever remember crying that much...EVER...and I'm a crier!  It got to the point where I could not stop hyperventilating.  I've never done that before.  I was mad when I thought Clint shoved a pillow in my face to silence the intense moaning.  However, he claims it was a temporary fix, and that he was using it just until he could get me a paper bag!  A day after the fact I believe him.  :o)

After about an hour, I calmed down and had a good night sleep filled with nightmares of leaving Liam...GREAT!  Danae, our good friend and babysitter, showed up at eight this morning with a smile on her face and some encouraging words.  She is COMPLETELY WONDERFUL.  Clint and I could not be blessed with a better caretaker to watch Liam.  She has graciously agreed to watch him at our house while I am at work for the rest of the school year.  Liam loves her, and she loves Liam.  She sent me hourly updates with pictures via text!  What a gal!

I shed a few tears at work, but it was great to see my other 400-ish kiddos.  I even got to send one to the office for mouthing off.  Nothing like getting right back into the game!  On a more positive note, I was greeted with a big HUGE banner that said "Welcome Back Mrs. Finlayson, We missed you!" decorated by my students!  I was also given a book from my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders titled "Tips for the Working Mom."  Two of my favorite tips..."Never give Liom Turnups!!  He will hate them!!"  and "Mak sher you husband kooks you diner evry night...the picture...BEFORE: Me: Mak me sum diner wen I get home. Clint: Ok I will...AFTER:  Clint: hony diners redy!  Me: AHHHHH!!!"  Bahhhaaaaa!!!! If you could only see that picture!  PRICELESS!!!  I think it may be the single best gift I have EVER received.

All-in-all it was a pretty good  bearable day.  I missed my little bubs...I came home to a crying and hungry baby, but as soon as he heard my voice...he stopped and smiled...and so did I.  My first real smile of the day!!!

12 Weeks! Is that the same as 3 Months? I'm not sure?!

Those look like Angelina Jolie lips?

There he is in his favorite corner of the crib.

Sucking on his hands...one of Liam's favorite pass-times

Last Week...

One tired baby and one tired mama!

Notice their arms...the SAME :0)

One of my piano students, Max, LOVES Liam and really wanted to hold him.  Then he spotted my camera not too far away and said,"Would you mind taking a picture of us please?"  Too cute!

Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks!

Liam Talks With Daddy

So in the last week Liam has become very alert and aware of his surroundings.  He has also been cooing and talking with us much more.  It has been so much fun.  Here's a little clip of Liam talking with Clint when he was supposed to be taking a nap ;o)

Party in My Crib!!

Rock on!!!

Liam's hair after some serious headbangin'!

Too much partyin'...

And he's out!

Naptime

I put Liam in his crib for a nap looking like this...the straightjacket swaddle...

he wiggles sideways to his favorite corner...

...and buries his nose in it!

It's becoming the everyday norm!

Reaching

Sooo...we've been randomly taking videos of Liam and I just now figured out how to get the footage from the camera to the computer to the blog!  Did I mention that I stink at technology.

Anyway today Liam happened to reach for a toy for the very first time!  Wahoo!  Here it is on video (well not the very first one).  It seem SO exciting at the time, the video doesn't do it justice.  Or maybe it's my lame-O commentary ;o)

"Seriously...another picture?!"

This little gym thingy was given to Liam from his Great-Grandma Lois.

He was in it for the first time, and LOVED it!!!  He stared at the blue and red flower for about 30 minutes and would NOT look away.

Then he REACHED and he GOT IT!  Woot-Woot!

Mesmerizing...

A Few More Random Pics.

Shopping in Bellevue Square

So this is a little embarrassing and funny at the same time.  Mom is out, but baby is still partying!  Haha!

"Spit Happens."  I really want to get Liam a shirt that says that!

The car...another sleep drug :o)

Just A Few Random Photos

I told you he loves his bouncer!  It's like a sleep drug, a few bounces an he's down for the count :0)

Liam, Lindi, and Daddy...now I know what they are doing while I teach lessons in the living room...SLEEP!

A soft straightjacket!

Where can we get tickets to this gunshow?!

Love that smile!

" I can fly!"
