Europe- Day 13

Today was a really fun day for Liam and me.
We took a steamboat city tour of Dresden
and it surpassed my expectations...

Mainly for the following reasons:
1.  Liam was FREE
2.  Everything was repeated in English, so we learned
A LOT of cool things about the city
(I wasn't expecting that!)
3.  Liam LOVED it!
We all know happy baby=happy mama!

Anyway, the Dresden Steamboat Fleet is the oldest in the WORLD!
Wow...I had no idea.
I think the boat we were on was built around 1820 or 30-something.
My mom brain has officially taken over...
My memory stinks!

Here's Liam in front of our boat, at Pier 7.
Sorry for the blurry photo.

Liam looking out at the residence/building facility of the Prime Minister of Saxony.
These are the only photos I could get (one handed) while trying to keep a very curious and squirmy 18 month-old from going overboard!

Liam had a BALL!
Or I should say, "Liam had a Da Boe!"

This is Liam's new friend, Alexandria.
She and her husband spoke very little English...
(way more than I speak German, however)...
They both LOVED Liam.
They were playing cars, peek-a-boo,
and they even gave him the cookies that came with their coffee.
They had Liam at cookie :)

One of three Castles that line The Elbe River.
The Prince of one castle was kicked out when he insisted on marrying a lowly servant girl.
So what did he do?
He built a castle for he and his new bride right next door!
Oh, true love...

Liam got a little stir crazy during the last 20 minutes....
(There's only so much freedom you can give a baby when you are on a boat)
I caved and gave him a dum-dum!

Now it's on to dinner with Daddy!
Liam now says "Da-Dee..."
(with a slight pause in-between syllables)
Still Da-Da sometimes...

Cheers!
