Application D.O.N.E.

Whew!
I never knew that an application for one art fair could take SO much time!
I decided to apply for the Bigfork Art Festival back in February.
I've have been working on my submission ever since.

You are only allowed to enter three photos of your work, and one of your booth.
I cheated embellished a little by making my photos "two-fold."

I thought it was really hard to get an accurate portrayal of the clothes when they aren't being worn.
However, It's hard to see details when they are on a child.
So...
I did this little number that I learned from Jack and Addi Photography.
Thanks for the tip Brock.

I'll find out if I'm accepted in the first week of May.
If I don't get in...I'll have baby gifts for a lifetime.
All you friends be prepared.
This is what you'd be getting for your wee-one :)
In Fact, you may be getting this anyway...

Liam sporting his upcycled sweater pants and scrappy owl hat.
Made from 100% Recycled Materials.

Liam's dear friend (to be unnamed)...
Wasn't sure if her mama wanted her picture on our blog, so we had to edit out her darling face.
...wearing an Upcycled T-shirt Dress/Leggings Set with a Scrappy Newsie Hat
Made from 100% Recycled Materials.

Clothespin Frame made from Upcycled Wood.

My little booth...
I was hoping for a bit more punch in this photo, but I ran out of time.

If I get accepted, come to the fair in Bigfork, MT
the first weekend in August.
Actually, come regardless...it's filled with cool stuff!
OR...e-mail me and I can make you a custom order to ship ;)
OR...just cross your fingers and wish me luck :)

I may take a sewing break until Monday.

Today My Baby Became a Man

Today...the day I have been dreading
since the birth of our first child...

The day no mother wants to admit, sure indeed,
has arrived...
My baby boy became a man today.
Okay, maybe not a man, but a boy...
or a little man-child!

Does that sound creepy?
Well, if it does, I don't mean it in a creepster kind of way ;)

"How did this happen," you ask.

Liam got his hair cut today!!!
AHHH!!!

Anyone who knows me, KNOWS
I have been putting this day off for
as long as possible.
aka..as long as Clint would let me...
aka...he was mentioning HOUNDING me about it
E.V.E.R.Y.  S.I.N.G.L.E. D.A.Y!

Not even a teeny, tiny snippety-snip for the baby book has been cut
until today.

We're talkin' the ONLY hair that has come off his precious head is the hair that rubbed off without my consent!

On a less mushy note...
You can't BELIEVE how hard it is to cut a wiggly 15 month-old
baby/man-child's hair!
Unless, of course, you've done it before.

BAH!
Liam ended up getting a crooked hack-job because of this!
Please don't laugh!
I don't want this to scar me Liam for life!

Look at that precious baby hair...
awww...I'm tearin' up...

This soft baby hair will never be seen again...
Those wisps melt me!

*tear*

"Mommy!  Mommy!
I can see!
I can See!
...and you may have cut too many bangs :(

Is it me, or does that look like a giant mustache?

Mr. Composer

Liam has loved music since the womb.
It seems like he enjoys it more and more each day.
He loves to discover new sounds, dance, and play singing games
(in his own way of course).

We just pulled out this cool toy, for the first time, this week.
He received it as a gift from his Garman Fam-Bam.
I think the video explains for itself, just how much Liam likes Loves this toy!

Thank you Shan, Kurt, Elli, and Logan!
Love, Liam

Posing for Mama!

This week is all about getting my application turned in.

4 more pictures to go and then we are done!

Liam was a good sport and let me get a few pictures of him this afternoon.

Interviewer from the Red Rock Carpet:
"Baby Fin, you look amazing!  Who are you wearing?"
Baby Fin:
"Thank you.
I'm wearing an upcycled sweater vest, pants, and owl hat by Grins by Fin
but I usually just call her Mommy."

"Rocks are my favorite.  Can we please take a break now, Mama?"

"Come on...it's fun  to crawl around on rocks!
Who needs walking anyway?!"

"Hey Lindi!'

"OOO...water."

"Lindi, do you wanna sort rocks with me?
Sometimes I sneak a few in my mouth if Mom isn't looking!
It's funny."

"Burrrrrrrrr."

Carrots!

I must explain!
Yesterday, we went to a friend's house for Easter dinner.
Liam was very extremely tired, and I forgot to bring his PJs along for the car ride home.
Blasphemy!

His friend, Mickie, so graciously offered to let Liam borrow some for the night.
When he woke up this morning...well...I just couldn't resist!

Looking good in pink hearts!

"These girly PJs won't stop me from playing like a boy!"

On another note, I had to put Liam back in his Easter Garb so that I could get a picture of the WHOLE ensemble.

No easter outfit is complete without a carrot boutonnière.

"What the heck is this thing?!"

"Eh, whatever!  I'm gonna crack open some more eggs!"

He Is Risen!

Happy Easter everyone!

We had such a blessed weekend at HOME!

On Good Friday, we decided to go on a family date to the Thai restaurant in Polson.
We like LOVE it there, and they close for winter...along with 1/4 of the other businesses around here.
I guess they leave with all the other snowbirds...sheesh!

Anyway, while getting Liam's highchair all set, I heard, "Oh my gosh, Alissa?!"
It was a dear college-friend of mine who just happened to be eating there with her mom!
It was good GREAT to see Kelsi!

Saturday, Clint helped me get things ready for my Bigfork Art Application.
Whew!  A lot TON of work has gone into this endeavor.
I'll have some preview pictures for you this week since they due on Friday.

Today, EASTER, we had a great spectacular service at church!
Then, went to a friend's house for dinner.
They had a little egg hunt for the kidlets, which was fun for Liam (and us too).
Although he would have been content with finding only one egg, and playing with the stickers on it the whole time, we forced encouraged him to try to find more :)

What a great way to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus!

This whole week, God has been revealing HIS amazing Grace to me.
I feel so honored, and yet, unworthy to be called HIS child.
What a gift it is to be a part of the HIS family!

"I love cracking eggs open!"

"I also love my daddy...and my bunny!"

"This sweet Easter outfit that my mama made isn't too shabby either."

"Oh!  A rock!  I LOVE rocks!"

"My hair is getting long...Daddy wants it cut, but I keep hearing my mom say, 'don't even think about it!'  I'm so confused as to how I like my hair."

"I'm getting heavy...24 pounds!  When I was weighed at the Doc's office last week, my mom told the nurse, 'really!?  He seems like 35 to me!'
Maybe I should cut back on the milk...NAH!
That would be ridiculous!  I LOVE MILK!"

"Did I mention that I love busting the tops off eggs.
Seriously...it's HILARIOUS!  You should try it!"

"This is the easter basket my mama made for me out of my Great-Great-Grandma Luella's fabric.
I don't get what what big stinkin' deal is, but it sure is a great place to put all my sh-nazz-ie eggs!"

"Last year I posed with this bunny.
He somehow seems a lot smaller to me this year.
Hmmm...I shall ponder that over the course of this week."

"Man, I'm cute!
Not that I'm conceded, but that's what my parents tell me.
I'm not even sure what cute means yet, but I'm pretty sure it's a good thing."

"FYI: I have 7 teeth."

"Should I crack the green one or the pink one first?  decisions, decisions..."

I just LOVE this picture.
If I can get Liam to pose like this, I'm totally stealing the idea and hanging it on my wall!
Have a great week everyone!

Professional Prints

So...I realize the video I posted earlier didn't really do much justice to Brock and Heather's amazing talent.
BUT...now that you have seen how horrible uncooperative Baby Fin was acting, this should really impress Blow Your Freakin' Socks off!
(Sorry Dad, I had to use the word Freakin',  because that's how amazing these turned out)!

P.S. Clint and I are getting ready to order some professional prints through Brock.  If you are interested, let me know ASAP  and I can place your order with ours.  I'm not sure how much they cost in various sizes.

If you have any questions let me know and I can find out for you.

I'll number them, and you can tell me which photo, in which size.
