Europe- Day 17/ Part 1

Sunday...
We had a jam-packed day today,
but it was packed with goodness!
We spent the entire day in Dresden, and had a BLAST!

It started out with a BANG...
I could go on and on about it, but I'll try to keep it short.
(Not too short though...I know you all only care to see pictures of Liam, but this is my online journal of the trip so I remember what we did, and when we did it.)

I was looking up things we could do this weekend, when I happened to see that there was going to be a "Flohmarkt" in the Altemark Square!
What the heck is a Flohmarkt?!
A Flee Market!

Oh, Glory be to the Heavens!
Anyone who knows me even a little bit know thrifting is my thing!
I love, Love, LOVE to look at other peoples' "old crap" and find treasures!!!

Luckily, I have a hubbers who will go with me (sometimes), and this happened to be one of those days.

The anticipation of what we may find...
One problem...
It's a little hard to bargain with people when you can't understand each other :)
Oh well, our suitcase was pretty much at it's limit when we arrived anyway.

This vendor was MY FAVORITE!
She was LOADED with vintage fabrics, notions
and handmade embroidery pretties.
Ironically, I didn't buy a thing from her.
But I DID take FOREVER looking at all her stuff and touched lots of yummy fabrics!
Clint always makes fun of me for having to "touch everything."
I can't help it, Clint...
It's who I am!

Button mania!

Clint had fun looking at coins.
Almost everyone seemed to be selling coins from all over the world.
I find it funny that someone thinks a 1971 dime is worth 2.5 euros :)

Clint, do you think you could get a little closer to that book?

Oh man, if I wasn't worried about my suitcase being over 50 lbs. and getting charged a $200 fee, I SOOO would have purchased this crate!
I thought vendor-guy seemed a little miffed at me for taking a picture,
but Clint made me feel better by saying,
"No Alissa, German is just an angry sounding language.  He could have been saying, 'wow you sure are beautiful,' and it would have sounded that way."
LOL!

Hello, guitars that were WAY over priced.
Who would buy a piece of junk yamaha guitar for 500 euros?
WHO?!
Wishful thinking Mr. Vendor...
Wishful thinking.

Liam had fun walking around the market too.
He's getting MUCH better at waking, and is actually starting to like it.
FINALLY!

Ignore the fact that my head looks much too large for my body and almost looks as if it was weirdly photoshopped onto this picture...
...and DO notice the SA-wEEt button earrings, I bought from a lady who makes all kinds of jewelry and hair accessories.

One side scissors and one side thread :)

I also bought some vintage, green leather heels from a guy who was kind of weird...
LOVE the shoes...
was glad to get away from the guy...

Moving on...

After the leaving the Flohmarkt, we walked
and walked,
and walked around Dresden.

I can't remember what this wall is called, but Clint wanted to go see it...
What he didn't realize is that he'd already walked by it twice on this trip!
He was on the phone with work both times and missed it.
Silly Clint.

By the way, I think my German is getting better.
I can't read it verbatim
BUT,
I'm pretty sure it says if you park here you are at risk of having your car towed.

Liam experienced a new food at lunch...
Fish sticks.
It was a HUGE success!
He was CRAMMING fish into his face...
...like he thought we were going to take them away or something.

"Something this tasty will be rationed by Mama.  I just know it!
M.U.S.T. E.A.T. F.A.S.T.E.R."

I have more pictures from today.
(too many to download all at once)
Part 2 coming up...
