Boys Will Be Boys

We've been doing some MAJOR yard work during the past couple weeks.
I have had 8 blisters to prove it.
My wimpy side took over after that happened, and I took a few days off.

We've dug out a few several raised beds which were completely overgrown.
Raked, Raked, and Raked some more...
(Did you know that if you leave pine needles to rest,
at some point they cement into the ground suffocating your grass?)

We've planted flowers, bushes, veggies, and herbs...
Moved rocks and gravel.
Dug up dead stuff ( just like to say that, dead stuff),
Pruned bushes and trees.
Cut dead limbs up the wazoo!

We have ONE MORE bush to plant,
have one bed left to finish,
and a few wild flowers to plant...

THEN...
Pure ENJOYMENT watching it all grow :)

Clint laughing at the fact I saved these bushes for him to dig up
because, "they were too hard for me to get."
Yes, he DID get them in one try, but I loosened them a little quite a bit!

Liam helping dig!

He played in the dirt for HOURS.
He ate some minimal amounts of dirt.
(At least I hope it was minimal)
He had some SERIOUS fun!
AND, He took a MUCH NEEDED bath!

"Hi. Mom."

"This was a really fun day."

Just drinking my morning milk while catching up on the week's sporting events.

"The Lakers lost out last night.
Man, was that a pathetic last two games or what?!?!"

I have spent a few many hours sewing toys for this Turkey Bird.
Some things which have taken FOREVER to finish have been total BUSTS.
He'll look at them for a second minute and head off to grab a piece of paper.
I'm not bitter or anything. :)

However, this alphabet magnet set has provided hours and hours of fun!
(patting myself on the back right now.)
His favorite letter is F... seriously!
He carries F all over the place :)
(somehow when I typed that it seemed crude :)

The magnets are sewn in between four layers of fabric,
so we don't need to worry about him swallowing a magnet.
Thereby shifting around his internal organs.
Bonus!

  1. Those Dirt pics reminded me of when Logan was about the same age... We all went up the Fort Warden in Port Townsend to hike and explore, fly kites on the beach.... and logan sat in the sand... LOVING IT -- Loving it too much, I dont know how much he ate, but he pooped it for at least a day! Yuk!! :0)

  2. EEw! When Liam ate the majority of a book we left in his crib over night, he pooped chipboard for a WEEK! Oh the joys of talking poo with another mama!
